Essential Reading

An Unbridled Perspective on Leadership

Riding the Waves of Transformation is written for leaders who feel squeezed in between—roles, expectations, and constant change. It offers a grounded alternative to overthinking leadership by reconnecting it to feeling, presence, and action.

Drawing on horse-assisted coaching, nature-based insights, and the 5D ALIVE leadership system, the book provides practical guidance for leading authentically in complex, real-world contexts. Leadership is explored as something lived and relational—knowing when to lead from the front, behind, beside, or simply hold space.

This book forms the experiential foundation of Leadership Ecology: an inside-out, human and nature-informed approach where clarity, trust, and resilient leadership emerge through alignment rather than control.

5D ALIVE Leadership — An Introduction

5D ALIVE Leadership invites leaders to experience leadership as something alive, relational, and embodied. Rooted in Riding the Waves of Transformation, it draws on insights from horse-assisted coaching to reveal what leadership looks like when authenticity, listening, intention, values, and energy are fully present.

Rather than fixed roles, leadership becomes a fluid practice—knowing when to lead from the front, behind, beside, in the room, or from anywhere at all. By embracing vulnerability and trust, leaders learn to connect more deeply, respond with clarity, and lead in ways that truly make a difference.

Leadership Beyond Position

Riding the Waves of Transformation explores leadership through the wisdom of horse herds, revealing leadership as fluid, responsive, and relational. By observing how horses move between leading from the front, behind, beside, in the room, and from anywhere, we discover how effective leadership adapts to what the moment truly requires.

This perspective invites leaders to reflect on how they lead—and how presence and relationship shape real impact.

Deep Dive into ALIVE Qualities

In this video we show how horses can teach us about the significant impact of energy in leadership and introduces the ALIVE framework, which includes Authenticity, Listening skills, Intentions, Values, and Energy as key qualities for effective leadership.

It emphasizes the importance of projecting and receiving energy, connecting deeply with one's own intentions and values, and cultivating mindful listening and authenticity.

Various anecdotes and practical tips illustrate how embracing these qualities can enhance leadership, improve team dynamics, and enrich personal growth.

ALIVE Leadership in Action

The video discusses a dynamic and fluid approach to leadership, drawing from the 5D ALIVE framework. It illustrates how leadership is not a fixed position but involves shifting between different dimensions based on the situation.

Using the example of Frederick, an operations manager, the script explains how he navigates a challenging day by leading from the front, behind, side, in the room, and from nowhere and anywhere.

The narrative emphasizes the importance of adaptability, collective wisdom, and making decisions aligned with long-term goals and values. The message encourages continuous learning, self-discovery, and the application of these leadership principles in all aspects of life to create a more humane and interconnected world.
